Microsoft Holiday Engagements

Each month, the Social team selects at least one international holiday to recognize and to engage with their social audiences through. Each engagement is a collaboration between the Community Management team and the Creative team.

Once the CM team has selected the monthly holiday, the Creative team brainstorms and pitches several creative concepts to the CM team. When a concept is approved, the design process begins. The Creative team uses these holiday engagements to experiment with different social techniques such as static vs. motion, illustration styles, and long-form vs. short-form videos.

Microsoft Live Event Engagements

The Design team supports live Microsoft events.

Working in tandem with the Community Management team and the Events team, the Design team helps create social engagements with users in real-time while the users attend Microsoft hosted events. The Design team crafts and pitches a response to the user and works with the CM team to refine the idea. The responses should be insightful, prompt and humorous to provide the user with a positive Microsoft experience.

Once the concept is approved, the Design team has an hour SLA to create a final piece so that the social user receives a response in a timely manner from the associated Microsoft account.

Microsoft Cloud Marketing Social Posts

The Design team’s main workload consists of overseeing design work for all of Microsoft Cloud Marketing’s social channels.

The responsibilities consist of: creating social posts from scratch, creating social posts from pre-existing assets, auditing channels and submitted social pieces for brand consistency, providing Microsoft stakeholders with design and branding guidance, keeping the larger team up to date on social platform posting best practices pertaining to design and providing internal design support.

The Design team regularly experiments with different social tactics with the various Microsoft audiences and uses social analytics to pivot on design tactics. The larger Cloud Marketing team relies on the Design team to make recommendations on which social tactics work best with specific Microsoft audiences.
